Do you remember last year's Bexhill Roaring 20s event? How could you possibly forget?
You'll be delighted to hear that 1066 Country's biggest and brightest event returns on 22 July 2017. We are promising you an event that is bigger and better. Not only that, but we want you to once again get involved...
We want you to get involved with this year's Roaring 20s event by being part of our world record attempt. Yes that's right, we're calling upon you to once again help Bexhill break the Guinness World Record for "The Largest Charleston Dance" at our 2017 event.
The Charleston dance record is currently held by London - 977 people - after they broke our record in late 2015.
At the 2015 Bexhill Roaring 20s we registered the record of 503 people, all dancing their way to glory on the De La Warr Pavilion terrace. Here's an opportunity to re-live the moment with our video:
Spectacular, isn't it? A truly electric atmosphere. This year we need your help to make it BIGGER!
This record attempt is going to require a little effort, but a wise person (my Mum) once told me that with effort comes reward. As a participant, you will need to learn a simple, short routine (a video of which is below, courtesy of our fantastic Debonnaire dancers) and repeat it for 5 minutes.
You'll also have plenty of opportunity to learn the moves at the event, with demonstrations from 10.30am on the day.
Should we break the record, you as a participant can obtain a Guinness World Record certificate (for a small fee of £10). What a great memory of the day to hang on your wall at home (and a great talking point when your friends come over for tea!).
We have set up an event page on Facebook, which you can find here:
Excitement is building for our Charleston Challenge world record attempt, sponsored by Hastings Direct. Get your outfit ready and join us on Saturday 22 July 2017.
