Hello,
I am 61 years old and am considering retiring within the next year and moving to Sussex. I do not drive, so places like Winchelsea, pretty though they are, are not a good option. Bexhill always seems a good place to relocate to though I have read some negative comments. Most of these to be fair, seem to be on the lines of ' nothing here for young people ' and I am prepared to ignore these. I am an active person though and would welcome news of the town having various social organisations like a local history society, or walking groups for example.
Many thanks,
Tim.

Tim, join ChatterPals - a thriving new informal social group for Bexhill residents. Several meet-ups for coffee each week, walks, meals out, Book Club, etc. No subs to pay, and the chance to make a lot of new friends.
Find the Group on Facebook (ChatterPals (Bexhill on Sea))

Hi, there's the Hanoverian study group which meets monthly. About Kings Legion that were stationed in Bexhill in 19th century. I don't belong but have read about it.
Bexhill Museum good.
Lively branch of U3A as well...has a walking sub group I believe.
Also Ramblers assoc. in area. Get details of how to do their walks using public transport.
Charleston is good if you're interested in the Bloomsbury Set, also Berwick Church. (Public transport)
Battle Abbey, Hastings Castle. Smuggling history etc.
Good walking locally...country park etc.

Would love to hear of a dog friendly ramblers group
The local one is not welcoming unless you want to leave your dog at home ...
